If your child watches Yo Gabba Gabba! you'll get my lame attempt at a cutesy title to this post. Seriously though, it's true because I LOVE this combination. When I was a kid, my mom and I ate sliced strawberries with condensed milk drizzled over it. Mmmmmm, so delicious but not healthy. I discovered a combination last year that tastes like mom's dish but it's all fruit: mango and strawberries. They are a perfect match so I won't let any other fruit join this party because they will ruin it. There are many kinds of mangoes and the one I use is the golden color kind which I buy at an Asian grocery store (other kinds of mango may work but I haven't tried). My friend found some at Whole Foods. Who knows, it may be found at your local grocery store, just take a look.
Boo started Montessori summer school on Monday so we are both adjusting to the new wake up time. I'm not used to getting up at 6:30 so I've been worn out by the time she goes to bed so haven't stepped in my craft room for days but I have been making some good food. Other progress: I started exercising again after a month off. I'm no longer in denial about my gluten intolerance which by the way IS celiac disease. I've been telling myself I'm just intolerant and that's not the same as celiac but a gastroenterologist set me straight. That discussion was an eye opener so I'm committed again to be gluten free. Wish me luck - I need it!
